Advancing ruminant research through innovative technology
We work with Rumenaut to help drive the next generation of ruminant research and technology.
Rumenaut is a New Zealand agritech company developing innovative tools to evaluate rumen gas production and animal productivity. Their robotic rumen systems can test devices, feeds, formulations and inhibitors, measuring methane, hydrogen and volatile fatty acid outputs to help researchers and product developers generate valuable insights earlier in the development process.
By providing an opportunity to investigate potential solutions before progressing to larger-scale animal studies, this technology can help inform study design, refine product development and support more targeted research programmes.
Rumenaut is also developing intraruminal device platforms, including hydrogen shuttle systems and real-time measurement technology, creating new opportunities to investigate how products and technologies perform within the rumen.
Supporting Australian product development
Through our partnership with Rumenaut, EpiVets can connect this specialised testing capability with our Australian expertise in veterinary research, epidemiology, field trials and regulatory support.
For companies developing feed additives, methane mitigation technologies and other ruminant products, this provides a pathway from early investigation through to robust field research and regulatory-ready evidence.
Together, EpiVets and Rumenaut are helping turn complex rumen science into practical evidence for livestock research and product development in Australia.
